FAQ

Common Questions

What is burial (final expense) insurance?

"Burial insurance" and "final expense insurance" are two names for the same thing. It's a smaller whole-life policy that helps cover end-of-life costs like a funeral, burial or cremation, and other final bills, so those expenses don't fall on your family.

Do I need a medical exam?

No exam is required to apply. You answer a few health questions on the call instead. Final approval, coverage, and rates are set by the insurance carrier.

How much coverage can I get?

Final expense policies are commonly written from about $5,000 up to around $25,000. The amount you qualify for depends on your age, health, and the carrier.

How much does it cost?

It's a paid life insurance policy with an ongoing monthly premium. It isn't free, and it isn't a government program. What you pay depends on your age, coverage amount, and health. We'll go over personalized options on a quick call.

Who can apply?

Final expense coverage is generally available for adults roughly ages 50–85, though this varies by carrier. Not everyone will qualify for every plan, and coverage is subject to the carrier's approval.

Final expense insurance is a form of whole life (permanent) life insurance and is a paid product. Premiums are payable to the issuing insurance company (typically monthly). Products, features, coverage amounts, premiums, and availability vary by state and by carrier and are subject to underwriting and approval. Some plans include a waiting period (graded benefit) before the full benefit is payable. Any guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. This is a solicitation of insurance; a licensed agent may contact you. Not all applicants will qualify.
